In April, 2016, nearly 90 participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Viet Nam gathered in Bangkok for a workshop, “Advocacy for Infant and Young Child Feeding: Strategy Updates in Selected Countries in the ASEAN Region and Beyond.” The workshop summary details the agenda, key insights, and results of group work conducted by each country delegation.

The workshop, which was co-hosted by Alive & Thrive, Irish Aid, and UNICEF, aimed to:

  • Share lessons learned from several years of country-level advocacy efforts throughout the region
  • Provide updates on the latest evidence in support of infant and young child feeding (IYCF) and related policy changes
  • Refresh country advocacy strategies for continued success and relevance, and
  • Maintain momentum for advocacy work through the region.

Over the course of the two-day workshop, a number of international experts presented the latest research and best practices in advocacy for IYCF. Those presentations are available for download below.
