Anticipated Period of Performance:  January 1, 2018 to April 30, 2018

BACKGROUND
In Viet Nam, A&T, along with PATH, supported the Da Nang Department of Health to establish the country’s first human milk bank at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children in February 2017. This milk bank helps to improve the access to donor human breastmilk for 3,000 – 4,000 at-risk infants in Da Nang annually. Based on the initial achievements of Da Nang human milk bank, A&T signed a memorandum of understanding with Tu Du Hospital to establish the second human milk bank in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC), which will generate the needed evidence for the development of a national guideline on human milk banking services in the country.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this Request for Quotations (RFQ) is to solicit quotes for the procurement of pasteurizers and related products as listed below. The equipment will be delivered to Tu Du Hospital at the address of No. 284 Cong Quynh Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 01, HCMC as soon as possible but no later than April 30, 2018.

SCOPE OF WORK
In every human milk bank, pasteurization is a key process to ensure the safety of donated human milk. Within this partnership between A&T and Tu Du Hospital, A&T will purchase pasteurizers and related products for the human milk bank in the hospital. It is anticipated that the equipment will ensure the pasteurization of about 15-20 liters of donor human milk per day. The selected vendor will work with A&T and Tu Du Hospital to do the following:

 Tasks and Activities: Selected vendor shall purchase, deliver, install pasteurizers and related products as well as to train relevant hospital staff on how to use the equipment and to provide warranty services for at least 02 years.

 Specific activities:

  1. Identify the quantity of pasteurizers and types of containers.
  2. Contact the supplier and make purchase orders.
  3. Inform A&T and Tu Du Hospital about delivery plan.
  4. Process customs clearance.
  5. Deliver to Tu Du Hospital.
  6. Install and test the operation of pasteurizers and containers.
  7. Organize training for human milk bank staff.
  8. Provide maintenance services every 6 months within 02 years.

 

 

ANTICIPATED CONTRACT MECHANISM

FHI Solutions LLC anticipates issuing a firm fixed price purchase order.  The purchase order will be issued in the local currency (VND) to the responsive offer or whose quote meets the above requirements and offers a competitive price. Once an award is issued, it will include a fixed price payment based on completion of the scope of work.
