A&T intends to achieve results by shaping IYCF demand and practice through franchise services and mass media, creating an enabling IYCF environment, and working closely with:
- Ministry of Health: Maternal & Child Health Department, National Institute of Nutrition, Viet Nam Food Safety & Administration, and other departments
- Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Health Services
- Viet Nam Women’s Union
- Medical Fraternity: Pediatric Association, Midwifery Association, OB/GYN Association
- Private health service providers
- Private food manufacturers
- UN Agencies and other international and local organizations
Expected impact
- Exclusive breastfeeding among infants under 6 months increased by 62% (from 17% to 27.5%)
- Stunted prevented in 54,000 children by reducing the rate of stunting by 2% per year
Expected outcomes
- Health care providers offering good quality IYCF counseling services
- Planners using evidence to inform decision-making and resource allocation for IYCF
- Code compliant manufacturers marketing good quality fortified complementary foods in an equitable manner
- Stakeholder monitoring and enforcing the Code of marketing
